helping...

woke up still kinda sad. heard *cc* talking with leezard (the new roomie) and laughing, went to see. she said check out lolcats.

so...i'm checking out lolcats.

still kinda sad, but it's not stopping me from laughing.

thrill isn't an acquired taste

i've been exploring the aspects of thrillseeking behavior, what makes something thrilling, and the dangers and terror and heady drunken rush after you realize you survived against overwhelming terror. and so i give you a masterpiece i made a while ago.

...i need to make it into a big, fat poster and hang it up on my wall somewhere.

Frog-Eating and You: Eating Frogs for Fun and Profit

i just read the most interesting line just now. like, just now, and so i had to share it.

i just received mark joyner's book the irresistible offer and was reading a special "letter to the customer" type thing that you commonly get when you purchase things through ClickBank. i like ClickBank. they're good people.

anyway, mark's talking about how less than 1% of people who purchase books on improving their business ever read the book, utilize the information, and utilize it properly. those odds, quite frankly, suck. he goes on to say something that many people in the business industry know: the profitable and successful people are the people who do what no one else is willing to do.

well, um...duh.

mr. joyer says, "...it's called 'frog eating,' and if you're the one who will eat the frog, you will be assured a lucrative income anywhere in the world for the rest of your life."

the same is true for personal development, improving your life, taking charge of who you are and who you will be, what you want and what you have. those people who are willing to do what less than 1% of the crowd is willing to do are the ones who walk around in a constant state of peace and happiness that can never be touched by outside influences. they're happy from the inside, and their lives reflect that intangible "Something" they know that no one else can even understand.

why?

they ate the frog.

now, everyone hears this, and because they understand english i know they comprehend the words i'm saying. but understanding is a totally different animal, and people forget this. why?

"because frogs taste like crap, delena!" you say.

well, yeah. but the people who have learned to like the taste of frogs find frog eating to be quite a fun and enjoyable pasttime. they make it more than a hobby, or a sport. they hold seminars on such things as:

Eating Frogs for Fun and Profit

Little-Known Secrets of Better Frog-Eating

Frogs the Whole Family Can Enjoy!

Frogs on the Go: Tips and Tricks to Fit Frogs Into Your Busy Schedule

You've Mastered the Green Frog, Now What? (Tree Frogs, Poison Dart Frogs, and Other Types for the Adventurous FrogMasters)

et cetera.

frog-eaters form MeetUps and groups on Facebook. they coordinate with other frog-eaters and form blogrolls, have annual workshops or bi-weekly frog tasting parties. they love eating frogs! even the poisonous ones.

especially the poisonous ones.

why? well, allow me to share with you a little-known secret. have you read Dune? remember the bene jesserit sisters, masters of the Weirding Way, able to move as a blur, use the Voice to command...and able to swallow poison and change it in their bodies to neutralize it or turn it into something beneficial to them.

master frog-eaters know this technique, so those things that people say are "too hard," or they "could never do that!" or it's "too painful," or my favorite: "it's all right for you, but that's just not something the rest of us can do," are easy-peasy for FrogMasters.

well ain't that just a big, fat pile of steaming bovine bollwocky!

well...yes and no.

anyone can learn to eat frogs, and whether it becomes a favorite activity and they love the taste, or if it's something they grimace and do while chewing really fast (and washing it down with a ton of water) is completely up to the person. but frog is definitely an acquired taste.

frogs like "facing fear," and frogs like "looking in the mirror and meeting your own eyes."

frogs like "being completely honest with yourself," and even frogs like "cleaning out the bad habits and friends in your life."

those are some tough frogs to chew, and even tougher to swallow. and the frogs like "facing fear" look like poison dart frogs to the common masses: especially horrible and to be avoided at all costs. "OH NO!!" people shout. "call poison control! call 911!! delena's just poisoned herself!"

"no i didn't," i say, and keep on popping those poison frogs like appetizers.

...so what frogs have you eaten lately? how'd they taste? but even more importantly, what were the health benefits afterward? how did eating that frog change your life for the better? and looking back, with those amazing benefits frog-eating gave you, wasn't eating that frog just totally, whacked-out crazy FUN??!?

and if you haven't eaten the frog yet...what are you waiting for?

c'mon...

...eat the frog.

you know you want to

the Year of the Delena

I declare 2009 The Year of the Funktastic Wow. two-zero-zero-eight, the Year of the Delena, draws to a close and, as i sit here well on the road to drunk, i find i'm in the perfect state of brutal honesty to go into this year in review:

we had the pleasure and singular privelege of witnessing the Great Confrontation and Bake Sale, the Night of the Great Kabloosh, and the Saddest Support Call Ever.

we also watched When Weird Giant Killer-Squids from Outer Space Attack! (which was a really freakin' weird episode...), Notes From My Pussygata, and we heard iGoddess Speak. there was also the debut of iGoddess: the Movie!

oh yeah.

we also saw a few characters leave the show. we said good-bye to *ds* and *ks*, who are making the dysfunctional, unhealthy, unbelievable choices that they --as individuals, adults, and fucktards-- are free to make. *sy* came and went with all the fanfare of a fart in the wind, and i haven't had a real relationship since.

i'm in love. damn me for it. but there it is.

so here are the 10 Things I Will Happily NEVER DO in 2009: The Year of the Funktastic Wow...

1.) Accept the things I am told I cannot change.

Your thoughts become things. Don't fight it. Don't think there's anything else. Don't entertain the false premises of fate, luck, or a God who judges, withholds, or decides. You decide. You manifest. You rule. This is why you are here. This is what you came to discover. You were born to experience your absolute dominion over every flimsy, malleable illusion of time and space; to have, do, and be anything.

Truthfully, it couldn't be any easier. All you have to do is think of what you want and refuse to deviate from that thought. This will, invariably, set you into motion, stir up the magic, and unleash the full force, power, and majesty of a Universe conspiring on your behalf.

The Universe

see? ha! ...fuckers. i can change the world. don't tell second-generation star stuff come alive what it can and cannot do!

2.) Ever. Stop. Writing.

"You know this is an endurance game. All the old playground rules still apply: you don't get picked for the team, you watch the game and come back the next day. When you're picked, forget mistakes, you've got to be better than everyone else on the field. Bloody noses and skinned knees are not an excuse to quit. And if you have the stubbornness (or stupidity) to stay in the game until the end of the day, you get to come back tomorrow and have the crap kicked out of you all over again. But: everyone else who can't stand on the sidelines, play their hearts out or take a few bruises goes home sniffling about what great players they would have been, if only the game had been fair and the other players nicer." --PBW

3.) Trust my naiveté

i've just had that lesson rubbed into my face, up my nose, in my hair, way too often.

4.) Ever give up on Love

love is the cornerstone of Pronoia, and the star-stuff that Funk is made of, baby. hippies were called love children; the summer of '69 the Summer of Love, and the greatest of These is love, man.

5.) Sacrifice my naivité

i might be stupidly naïve, but i'd rather be disappointed occasionally as i believe in people, then be bitterly cynical and RIGHT all the time...

(dammit, i mean it...no matter how much it feels like a lie...)

6.) Never stop loving everyone in my life.

and this includes people like big *c*, and willow (the first woman i ever Loved), and everyone i've ever said good-bye to. i will always love you, no matter what comes between us. i loved you. i will always love you. that's just how i was built.

7.) Give Up.

'nuff said.

8.) TBA

9.) TBA

10.) TBA

y'know tagging's illegal in some states...

so this guy tagged me. he really is a great guy, this guy. but bret, you stinker! so now i have to play the game.

Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person know they've been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

oi vey...random things about me? what if you've been dubbed the Random Queen of Zaney WTF? by friends, and "wow, that was random..." is as common to hear as, "hey, dee, wassup?"

hmm...random things about me...

1.) i can stick my whole fist in my mouth. the whole thing. just...don't even ask how i found this out...

2.) my li'l sis *t* and i (and sometimes my li'l bro *aj*) text each other with random movie quotes or lines from songs. we've exchanged entire songs this way, from the time warp to willy wonka, the amazing chocolatier, and even quotes from the princess bride and other fun movies we enjoy. it's a fun game; i highly recommend it. lots of inside-jokes and memorable memories come to the fore. yup yup.

3.) i still love (and have a small collection of) stuffed animals. "my stuffies," i call them. quite a few of them are dragons...surprise surprise. one of them's a hand puppet; a 3-headed hydra, whose names are Tiberius, Thelonius, and Bob. yeah, you heard me right: Bob.

4.) my sexy, mean strap-on queen sheree drew me this lovely picture of me as a mermaid --a huge smile on my face-- with the Funk in one hand, and my little joymines in the other. i still have it.

5.) i really do want pink go-go boots...

6.) my bio-dad used to call me la amazona, and used to say i was born to the wrong family. i should've grown up in a log cabin deep in the woods somewhere, and someday i was gonna grow up to marry me a mountain man and have strapping, paul bunyan children. every year when fall comes around, when the leaves are vibrant yet piling up in drifts on the side of the road and carpeting everything you see to the horizon...when nights grow longer and days grow colder, greyer, wetter... when the parkas and the flannel and the thick-soled boots come out...when men neglect to shave because it's warmer that way (which i don't mind, because facial hair is so effing sexy)...i always grin, or flat-out laugh to myself because i remember what he used to say. i can hear his voice calling me "amazona," and i say to myself, "mountain man..." look where i ended up living! while totally in left field about a lot of aspects about me, his firstborn, on that one i'd say he was pretty dead on.

....just don't know where ima marry me a mountain man.

[-=@=-]

....now comes the part mas dificíl: actually tagging six people.

1. azzy, the Ultimate RP'er of Frakking DOOM. omg. her mad rp skillz will leave you sobbing and hiccupping, complete with snot running down your face, as you realize just what an utter n00b you are compared to her uberiffic awesome-liciousness of RP mastery. in other moods, i also call her my muse, and sometimes my idol. when i grow up, i wanna be as cool as she is. you merely look at her, and you are knocked back by the mystic power of her pwnage.

azzy, sugar baby honey pie, you effing rock.

2. my greggo. i think he's the only man i've been so devotionally and solidly in love with for the longest time in my life -- evar. honestly, what else can you say about your best friend who truly has been a best friend? we've run the gamut of emotions and stages in a deep friendship, struggled with issues that really only brought out the issues we were struggling with inside our own selves. can't stand each other, bicker, fight, hurt, love, compliment, bolster, support, listen, cry, tease, aggravate, give... been there, done that. i might not be in love with some of his choices, especially not his choice to shackle himself to a cold fish i have to force myself not to insult at any opportunity. i don't love his tendency to be drawn to sick women with Issues. i can't stand that he refuses to entertain the possibility of believing that he can outshine the stars. but...i love him. he's my greggo. and all those things i can't stand come with the package, and make him the man i've been in love with longer than any other man in my life. and there's so much about him i love that i think i'll just spend the rest of our friendship naming them all.

how's that for commitment and devotion, babe? i fucking love you...

3. nydia, nydia...oh, how i love nydia! nydia the craft-art lady. and that's "craft" in both senses of the word, wink wink. she's just so phenominal, and i love watching her work. she brings the spirit of witchcraft home like few people i know. and she's so brilliantly creative and confident, self-aware, and her mind is just fascinating. i love creative people. they get my own juices simmering. with nydia? it's steam!

4. goddess leonie. when they say a picture is worth a thousand words, they don't remember to think about leonie. what happens when you see a picture and it takes your breath away? what happens when you see a picture and words are stolen from you so you can't even remember how to speak? longing and wonderment and joy and inspiration so deep and raw is why they invented art, and music, and dance. some things just can't be expressed in words. every time i visit there, i walk away reminded of how special i truly am.

5. divalicious mich. i want her centeredness. hands down. want want want. but it's not an envious want. it's more i simply look up to her and wonder what secret she knows that keeps her so...centered. and even though we've never talked, i can almost hear her inside my head...laughing at me...telling me that i already know that there is no great and wonderiffic secret to know. she'd tell me i already know, and i'm rockin', too. she's just so Funktastic like that.

6. jane in the painted house. if i'm ever in her neck of the woods and craving a cuppa java, fresh air, and a walk in-around-and-about those cute little stores off the beaten path, i can bet she'd be game for it and our day would be filled with so much fun, laughter, and trading old war stories for our own entertainment. you know, because we're such rockin' hot, divalicious soul masters now that we can laugh at our own fucktardedness. this woman rocks. she's been through so much, and lifted herself so high. there's no award high enough the human race has to offer. and i love her gift with a camera. she's so brave and real in front of it. i'm not quite there yet. but it's another thing (of MANY!) to admire about her.

(7. and boho mom, you know i luv ya. i'm one of your biggest fans. i'd have tagged you, too, but you already got yourself good and tagged. but MWAH! *blows kisses*)

there. i've done been tagged.

i like ike

so my flight was cancelled, i couldn't get anything out to florida any sooner than 18:00 EST, which would have left me out of an entire day of seminar educational goodness.

hurricanes rock.

i haven't slept all night, and the night before was kinda bad sleep, too. so ima go to bed.

when my refunds clear my account, i'm taking my rumblestrutskin to the vet, dammit.

peace, yo.

PS. on a completely random note, did you know it takes EXACTLY two hours to go from sitting inside my car in my parking spot at home, to the airport long-term parking lot, to the shuttle, to the terminal, to the disappointed-yet-kinda-happy shock that my flight was cancelled, back through the terminal, to the shuttle, to long-term parking, and back to my car? and when i mean exactly, i mean to the minute.

crazywhacked.

so.cal revisited

so a friend of mine came up from so.cal for a visit last week. we had a lot of fun, and did a lot of running around. whenever someone i know and love comes to visit me in "my" city, i'm always determined to show them the best and brightest of, and all my favorite little things only a local would find.

we went to john barleycorn's, which is another McMenamins - a favorite pub only found here in the pac northwest. they make this stout, called Terminator, and make a chocolate milkshake from it. i can't stand brews, but that stout milkshake is so killer, omg. have a small sampler of Terminator straight up, then have them bring you the milkshake, and you can taste the stout. for some reason, stout + chocolate milkshake = orgasmic deliciousness.

the table where we chose to sit wasn't anywhere near our usual choices, so we got to see a pic that i don't normally see. it was the topic of many conversations throughout dinner. we nearly killed ourselves coming up with captions that just made us die laughing.

"and what do you want me to do with this?"
"...you've got to be kidding."
"out playing cards and drinking all night and you bring home this?"

and my personal favorite:
"it's dangerous out there. here, take this."

hi, my name is delena and i'm an addict...

if none of you have experimented with the new Google Reader feature, i strongly implore you to do so. it's so wonderful...

it's a way for you to input all the websites you frequent in one easy place, and you can check it as often as you like, and any new material is displayed for you right there, on one screen. no more hopping from website to website, waiting for things to load, etc. even the RSS feed alert isn't as efficient as Reader.

it's also a mirror held up for you to see just what a blog addict you are. and of course by "you" i mean "me."

hi, my name is delena and i'm a blog addict. i'm subscribed to 25 blogs that i read religiously. i'm not a comment junkie yet, but it's only a matter of time. blog reading is a gateway, they say...

i don't mean to do it, it's just there, calling me, and it's so easy and accessible. and everybody's doing it!

we are dreamers, shapers, singers, and makers

ah, the wonders, hilarity, and humanity of the internet...

every morning monday thru friday in iGoddess Land, the minbari-like alarm chimes softly and soothingly at 07:57, which is just enough time for me to wake up, sigh and smile like i do every morning (because waking up is a pleasant experience), turn off the alarm and dial in to my morning conference call. it's an exciting, cheerful conversation filled with enthusiasm and boundless energy. it puts me in the right frame of mind to begin my day, and i can lie in bed with my eyes closed, smiling to myself, while on speakerfone tony rush is talking about leadership, awareness, freedom, compassion, and outreach. it's a beautiful thing.

and sometimes i turn off the alarm and roll over, hug my pillow, and sleep in an extra hour or so. this, too, is a beautiful thing.

finally rolling out of bed is always such a fantastic feeling. i get up, greet the kitties who come rushing to my door, spend a little time with rumblestrut (who, because he's a cat, got kicked out of paradise aka "my room" during the night and feels slightly exiled), and come to my computer to find out what my day has in store for me. i check all my email (from five accounts, that can be a lot some days), take notes on business emails and website responses, write a list of who i get to call that day, and read my newsletters.

it's amazing the things i find in this phenominally delicious world...

like today i found this adorable little snippet into the inside of a healthy, happy, well-adjusted single woman's mind. what rocks is that this article called me "The Holy Grail!" as a cute, intelligent, and hilarious chick who's also a gamer, i've half-jokingly referred to myself as "prime equity stock" in the past. after this, i think i like "Holy Grail" much better! how many guys can say that they found a girl who not only tolerates their new-game obsessions and weekend-long gaming marathons, but also is happy to be the supportive, cheering audience, is eager to fix a "Glorious Pot of Everfill" chili and stock up on potions of Henry Weinhart to last the marathon, and even joins in and kicks some butt of her own? in a word, a chick like that is orgasmically delicious! a definite Holy Grail for the saavy male gamer looking for love, marriage, and PvP*.

with my beloved boho mom on the brain, i went out and watched randy pausch's Final Lecture on YouTube. it was simply amazing. i got teary-eyed when he had a birthday cake wheeled out and had the whole auditorium sing "happy birthday" to his wife. i read the small tribute Google wrote in honor of him (and you're definitely a Thunder Walker if Google tips its hat to you!), and found this article on Wired.com with an interesting sign of the times. we're entering a new age of not just cybersex and e-commerce, but of whole communities of iVillages and, now, thanks to Randy, distributed iFunerals. the internet is truly a wonderful, wonder-filled place...

speaking of randy, he mentioned how his childhood hero was Captain Kirk and expressed all this excitement for the captain's nifty, neat-o toys. he held up his own Star Trek communicator, then held up his real-life, working model that happened to be smaller, sleeker, and was called a "cell phone." i grew up with The Original Series (on re-run, unfortunately, as i was born in the late 70's) in a sci-fi-encouraged home. it's always so much fun to see when science fact catches up with science fiction. better still, when i see how science fiction is used for the greater good. now there's a version of pronoia in action, baby!

of course, hilariously enough, this wonder-filled world we live in isn't for the faint of heart, either... sometimes it's nice to take a look at ourselves and our lives in 2008 and see just how good we got it.

*PvP, for you non-gamers, stands for Player vs. Player, a cutthroat and merciless arena where winner takes all, and losers often get camped*.

*again, for you non-gamers, "camped" is a term meaning that, when you've gotten ganked by a player with better stats and mad skillz than you, they end up sitting next to your corpse waiting for you to resurrect with only 5% of your hit points so they can squick you again. vicious and delicious, tastes just like vengeance!

NIN

i pretty much took that picture just for proof that i was there. that was after their last set, before the encore.

it effing rocked last night! i had so much fun...

it was kinda strange being in seattle. the last time i'd been there was in '02 when i was visiting with *k*, my estranged older sister. it feels really good to be able to imprint better memories atop the crappy ones of pretty much the entire state of washington. i really don't like WA all that much: it's where i was married, after all, and where a lot of people live that used to be friends. the only reason i drove up there was for them, or back when *j* and i were together i'd drive up to see him. so i didn't have a whole lot of reason to even give the state my time of day. but a NIN concert?

yeah, i'll do that. =) and it was great!

i got pics of the space needle, also to prove i was there. "for blog posterity," i said. there was a parade going on at the same time, and some sort of decorative military function, so it was c-r-o-w-d-e-d! but after kinda taking a roundabout route amidst horses and baton twirlers, floats, and drumlines, we finally made our way to the key arena.

i took this pic along the way, because i'd forgotten to ask *ks* if i could borrow his camera. i had my phone, though. my new, wonderful slinky pinky with all-powerful camera action! woo! so i was playing with it and had the opportunity to prove that yes, i do in fact go out and do stuff. i didn't know it, but we had floor tickets, so we landed ourselves a spot dead center four bodies back. when i say that trent reznor was right there, i mean he was right there. it was pretty incredible...

...until i realized that i was standing in the dead center of the mosh pit. at first it was actually kinda fun. i was getting high on the energy of so many pressing bodies all frantic in the heated worship of angry, industrial rock. i laughed, thinking, "wow, i can kinda say that i've now had hot, sweaty sex with about 300 people. cool." there was that kind of charge to the mob. i flowed with it, leaned with it, ran with it, pressed with it, jumped with it, screamed with it. at one point, neither of my feet were touching the floor and i was being carried along by it.

cool.

but y'know, if you've never been in a mosh pit, all those bodies crushing against you, all that heat, all of them screaming and gyrating and pressing tends to suck all the oxygen out of the air. some of it i'm sure gets burned up by the sheer energy of the crowd. i couldn't breathe. i now do not doubt the power of mobs, or their deadliness. when people say they couldn't get out of it and were carried along by it, they don't mean that figuratively.

between that, and all the skunkweed being smoked in the pit, i almost passed out. but i was with *cr*. he stuck by me...i don't know how. that crowd was wild. but when i turned to him and said, "yeah, 'kay, i'm done," he threw his arm across my chest and pulled me, lifeguard-with-drowning-victim style, through the crowd and out. i was like, "aw, my hero. he fought through a mosh pit for me." a guard saw me staggering, and he escorted us out the rest of the way, put me with the floor guards. it was kinda cool.

afterwards, when we were resting our feet (i took my "comfortable" walking shoes off and was happier barefoot, for which *cr* laughed at me), i saw a guy running around wearing balloon art. it was hilarious. we laughed, mused about it, laughed more, and finally i got up and asked the guy if i could take a picture of his lovely balloon. he was a nice guy.

then we had to split up because we had taken two cars between all of us, and we wanted to meet up at mc menamin's just for some place to sit and enjoy something to drink before heading out. traffic was kinda nuts. it was hilarious, listening to the guys try to figure out which would be best, least confusing, most efficient, and fastest. of course, being that *cr* doesn't know seattle, and i'm directionally-challenged as it is, i said, "well, why don't we all just get a picture of the map instead of you guys trying to memorize it?"

and then there was silence.

crickets chirping. befuddled guys blinking.

"dude, that's a good idea!" and "wow, that's a good idea!" and (my favorite) "why didn't we think of that? that's a really good idea."

me: "what would you do without me?"

and then, because it was there and beautiful, and it was a clear night, i got another shot of the needle.

all in all, it was a really fun night.

daily deelite

there's so much awesomeness today!!! daily deelites is dedicated to my fone. (this one's for you, *ks*...)

1. i love my phone! i'm so happy that someone had the lovely idea to make such a wonderful piece of equipment, and then to make it pink!!! not only is it an mp3 player (with an option for a 50 meg memory card!!!), but it's also a camera (my last one wasn't and i felt left out, lol), has a wonderful speaker (speakerfone on my other one was kinda buzzy), and it just has all these little teenie, insignificant perks and qualities to it that just make me love it soooo much!

2. i love how streamlined it is, how thin and cute and small. it's slightly wider than my old phone, but it's sleek.

3. i love the ringers and other sound features it has! my old ringer was "head, shoulders, knees, and toes" because it's, like, sooo me, y'know? it just fit. but this ringer is also me. it's kinda club, but also with a hint of disco to it. i get the urge to dance whenever my phone rings!

4. the volume settings on my phone make me grateful every single day for this little slinky pinky. everyone knows i'm the world's lightest sleeper, so the quietest sounds wake me up. even the sound of kitty paws on the carpet are enough to jolt me out of sleep. going through the sound bytes on my phone, i found the gentlest alarm i could, and on the lowest setting, it's just enough to wake me up without scaring the crap outta me, and making me start every day with adrenaline-jolting, heart-stopping action. instead, i wake with a smile.

5. the screen saver makes me happy, too. in keeping with my new habit to visualize my dreams to help them manifest in my life, my screen saver has a pic of a guy sitting on a lopsided palm tree in the tropics. it's an awesome picture, and every time i see it i think, "that's me, 'cept for the being a guy part. that's me in fiji/tahiti/the bahamas. behind the camera is my house, and that beach right there? that's my back yard..." my phone constantly reminds me exactly what it is i'm working toward.

oh, my phone! i love my phone! it's so cute and pink and treats me so well... <-- ode to my phone.

toe #23

so i was at my parents' yesterday, and it was gorgeous outside. mom was "playing outside," as she says, doing her garden stuff. she's a horticulturist, so there's a honkin' garden in the back. she recently trimmed back the Rosemary that Ate Chicago because *cc* and i got nervous after this one time going out back to trim some for ourselves and we heard, "C'mere, little girl..." from the vicinity of the rosemary bush.

well, i think it was the poppies' turn to take over the garden, and they were hiding the split wooden logs mom uses to create a lovely border between the flowers and the rest of the yard. after playing with the dogs in the yard, i turned to go back inside...

...and SMACK!

there went my poor little piggies smack into that log the poppies were hiding.

it was kinda ugly, and no matter what i did my toe wouldn't stop bleeding. but i finally got it under control and it was only a few hours until the throbbing finally ceased. my foot's still sore from the initial impact, and driving home wasn't all too fun, either. the Funkmobile's a manual, remember. i called the salon today just to find out what the forecast was for my appointments, and apparently everyone's pretty booked today. wtf? this weekend was slower than molasses in january! where'd they all come from?

prolly out enjoying the gorgeous weather and too busy to make (or keep) grooming appointments, so they all decide to flood in on monday after i break my toe.

yay, murphy's law! (murphy, u suck...)

ah well. it's not like i haven't broken toes before. just look at the title of this entry. i thought i was finally done with my toe-breaking spree.
